Authentication Agent for Windows NTOpen up a world of opportunities, without putting your business at risk
Authentication Agent for Windows NT makes it easy for you to use both remote access and Internet technology for communications and information sharing among employees, as well as trusted vendors, partners, and customers-without the fear of compromising proprietary data.

What's more, this powerful security sentinel allows you to implement online services with complete confidence. The unique WebID feature set within Authentication Agent for Windows NT ensures that subscribers are authenticated before access is granted to protected URLs. This capability opens up a world of opportunities to expand your business and improve user accessibility to network resources - all within a tightly secure environment.

To enhance your business productivity and explore new online opportunities, while protecting your private network resources, Authentication Agent for Windows NT is the secure answer.

Intuitive administration interface
Authentication Agent for Windows NT makes it quick and easy to set up and manage security for your Windows NT environment. Simply click on the Security Dynamics logo in your Windows NT control panel to set up remote access, Web, or direct logon security policies. With our intuitive Windows NT control panel interface, configuring your secure NT environment for comprehensive protection is a snap.

Vital protection for your NT-based resources
Authentication Agent for Windows NT guards against unauthorized access to your valuable NT-based resources. When a logon is attempted, Authentication Agent for Windows NT first challenges the user to provide a valid user ID, Personal Identification Number (PIN), and a unique, randomly generated passcode from the SecurID token. These credentials are passed from a DLL in the Authentication Agent for Windows NT to the Authentication Manager for authentication. The logon process is fast and easy.

RAS integration to secure direct dial
Authentication Agent for Windows NT protects serial line connections to RAS communication ports. To remotely access an NT system, the user supplies his or her user name, password and SecurID passcode. If the user's credentials are valid, Authentication Agent for Windows NT instructs RAS to continue the logon, if not, it instructs RAS to suspend the connection. Authentication Agent for Windows NT is ideal for protecting RAS servers as well as individual Windows NT workstations.

Integrates smoothly into your Microsoft environment
To ensure smooth integration with your Microsoft environment, Authentication Agent for Windows NT takes advantage of Microsoft's standard Domain Naming Services for SecurID token management. Using the Windows NT standard User Manager, the Authentication Agent for Windows NT assigns SecurID usage policy for each user, designating either remote access or direct logon privileges. This provides greater flexibility in managing secure access to your Windows NT environment.

WebID to secure your Internet and intranet sites
Authentication Agent for Windows NT includes Security Dynamics' unique WebID feature set, which provides strong authentication to secure areas of your public Web site or private intranet. With the WebID feature set, you can designate which users to challenge, as well as which files or Web pages are secured, by simply clicking on individual users and files. To challenge all users, or to secure all Web pages, just click on a folder to secure all of its contents. That means dynamically created Web pages written to a secured folder also inherit SecurID protection.

WebID can be implemented directly on your Web server-you only need one Agent per Web site. What's more, WebID fits right into your existing infrastructure-there's no need to modify your existing URLs or to reconfigure URL maps. That makes deployment of this secure Internet/intranet solution fast and easy. WebID is easy for users, too. There is no need to modify settings on their current browsers or change bookmarks. Users simply provide the necessary credentials when challenged upon attempting to access a protected URL. WebID transparently processes the URL request with the Authentication Manager and grants access as soon as the user is authenticated.

Administering secure Web pages is as easy as pointing and clicking. The WebID properties page allows you to quickly set up Web security, including enabling domain "cookies," selecting parameters for cookies, specifying Secure Socket Layer (SSL) connection security, selecting file, etc. The use of the standard Web feature, cookies, allows end-users to authenticate only once per browser session and move from secure pages to unsecured pages during a secure session. Cookies expire when the user exits the browser, or when you specify in your security policy. WebID also allows you to enforce SSL encryption for ensuring the integrity of protected URLs and cookies. WebID supports both Microsoft and Netscape Web browsers.

Extensive audit and reporting capabilities
Authentication Agent for Windows NT records all access attempts, as well as the status of connections with the Authentication Manager, in the Windows NT Application Log. The standard Windows NT Event Viewer is used to audit logon activity for each NT station. This further enhances your ability to audit the security of your Windows NT environment, while minimizing administrative costs.
